Self Help Group, A Co-Operative within a Co-Operative, is a revolutionary human empowerment program by State Government, has been in practice in this society since 1971. This society already formed a good number of Woman Self Help Groups with village women based on some good economically profitable projects which can be done easily with their day to day job. This endeavor helped then to empower themself as well as poverty alleviation. 

By this endeavor we have been successfully made them co-operative oriented.

SHG Group Activity

• Group Leader Conducts meetings regularly among the SHG members & collects deposits from them. They regularly deposit the same amount to the account with the society.

• The society regularly monitors the SHG Groups & offers loans according to the criteria. The West Bengal Government also offers loans to these groups according to their criteria through The State & Dist. Central Co-operative Banks. 

• These groups have been involved in various projects like Goatary, Kutti (Rice preparing units), Packaged food processing, such as Pickle preparation & packaging, etc.

Nowadays SHG groups have become one of the major contributors in the rural economy as well.

Balichar Rabanpur SKUS is doing excellent as per the SHG financing & collection, as well as preparing training & skill development programs for further development.
